TAXPAYERS THE BENEFICIARIES- Battalion Chief Jim Arledge, left, the Ventura County Fireman of the Year, gets a plaque from Fire Chief Rob Roper during the recent Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge No. 2477 Law Enforcement and Firefighters Appreciation Night. The Elks give out awards annually to peace officers and firefighters who serve local communities.
