Brighter Horizons coming to CLU

The Ventura County Branches of the American Association of University Women and the CLU/ CSUCI Mathematics Project are sponsoring 2008 Brighter Horizons from 8 a.m. to noon Sat., March 8 at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

Brighter Horizons is a halfday conference designed to provide students in grades five through nine with a chance to learn about career opportunities in math, science and technology in hands-on workshops led by women working in those fields. Participants can take part in three different workshops.

Subjects covered in previous years include veterinary medicine, hospital laboratories, forensics, biotechnology, astronomy, mechanical engineering, architecture and chemistry.

Registration forms will be distributed throughout Ventura County schools in January.
