City looks again at passing tough new anti-smoking law
      The City Council voted 4-0 to send a proposed change to the municipal code back to city staff members for more work. The change would prohibit smoking in outside areas such as shopping centers, sitting areas, food courts, sidewalks, public events, restaurants and children's play areas.

      A TREE GROWS IN MALIBU- Steve Cohen and his son Jordan, 8, of Agoura Hills plant a tree native to the Santa Monica Mountains as part of TuB'Shevat, Jewish Arbor Day. Forty-five congregants from Temple Adat Elohim in Thousand Oaks gathered at Paramount Ranch in rural Malibu to weed nonnative plants and restore natural trees and shrubbery to the area.

That's insanity because squirrels can crack the shells of raw nuts. If they accidentally bit you, you'd lose a finger. Ed is practical.
