First-aid station would have improved Potrero

My commendations to the environmentalists in Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks who were successful in reining in the pavilion that was proposed for Potrero Park.

Other factors were the increase in traffic near an equestrian trail, the private use of the pavilion and the violation of terms agreed upon with the state regarding the preservation of open space.

Nevertheless, I would have opted for a first-aid station inside the park.

My wife and I live near the park, and invariably on weekends we're bombarded with the sounds of sirens from passing fire trucks and ambulances en route to the park to rescue injured hikers and bikers. Samuel M. Rosen Newbury Park
