Red Cross offers disaster training sessions in Ojai

The American Red Cross of Ventura County is offering Disaster Action Team training 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sat., Jan. 26 and Sun., Jan. 27 at the ARC Enrichment Center at 210 Canada St. in Ojai.

The Disaster Action Team is a group of trained volunteers who assist the American Red Cross with disaster response.

The two day training is free.

Day one includes basic ARC orientation, detailed introduction to the disaster volunteer position, education on mass care and a DAT workshop. On day two, participants will learn about shelter operations and management, and will participate in a shelter simulation.
