Fundraisers at school deserve a sense of humor
      The most recent comments regarding principal Jeff Rickert's fundraising event has forced me to write something on his behalf. I wasn't able to see the event in person. I saw the picture in the Thousand Oaks Acorn after it happened. I guess you could say I saw it "tape" delayed.

      My husband and I are asking the Thousand Oaks City Council to make public transit a bigger priority in Thousand Oaks for 2008 and to be more understanding toward people with disabilities.

Thanks to compassion, lonely seniors were remembered
      It's because of Friends of the Ombudsman Program in Ventura County and their generous giving to Operation Senior Santa this year that we've been able to deliver gifts to more than 2,000 frail elderly residents in long-term care facilities in Ventura County.
