Goebel Senior Center seeks applicants for commission

Applicants are sought to serve on the Goebel Senior Center Commission Inc. when the terms of the present members end on June 30. In March, the commission will consider individuals who apply for appointment or reappointment to the commission.

Regular public commission meetings are on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Goebel Senior Adult Center. Potential candidates are encouraged to attend.

Applicants must be age 55 or older and residing within the boundaries of the Conejo Recreation and Park District, especially individuals who are knowledgeable of the needs and interests of older people and community resources. Commissioners volunteer their time and skills, serve on commission committees and assist in programs that benefit seniors.

The commission establishes polices regarding the operations and funding of the Goebel Center, conducts surveys to gauge the effectiveness of the center and makes recommendations for programs, facilities and equipment to meet the center's needs.

Applicants should submit their name, address, phone number and other pertinent information to the office of the Administrator of Recreation and Community Services, Conejo Recreation and Park District, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
