Democracy alive and well in T.O.

I want to congratulate Thousand Oaks residents Nino DeFranco and Mojtaba Sedihgi on their efforts in collecting enough signatures for the traffic ballot initiative.

I'm glad to see that democracy is alive and well in our fair city. It's obvious that the council majority has their own agenda and doesn't represent the best interests of the people they were elected to represent.

Jacqui Irwin is a perfect example. She votes very differently from her campaign promises.

I hope voters remember this when Mrs. Irwin seeks reelection next year.

So many of us have watched and witnessed negative changes to our quality of life. The plan to build mixed-use high-rises on Thousand Oaks Boulevard was pushed forward when the council majority voted to disband MeasureAafewmonthsago.

This is the first step and demonstrates why residents deserve the final say. I offer my support and believe that this will have farreaching positive impacts. Debbie Gregory Thousand Oaks
