Takes aim at critic of the petition drive My name is Nino DeFranco, and I'm fighting for our quality of life. I want to protect what we already have. I've lived here for 15 years and have been very involved. In the city of Agoura Hills I'm fighting for the horse community, and in Westlake Village I'm fighting Home Depot. But the issue is bigger than a single store; we need to look at the whole picture, into the future. People need to think what happens when a large project comes in, and the first thing they have to think of is traffic. Our General Plan says that we needtokeepaClevelofservice on our streets and intersections to keep traffic moving. Right now, the City Council can exempt developers from this standard. I believe that if a development would worsen traffic congestion, then the voters should have control. If a large development lowers the level of service to D or worse, then the traffic initiative will allow the people to vote on it. Voters in Thousand Oaks are very educated. They're intelligent enough to see the difference between what's right and what's wrong, what's real and what's not. If people believe Jere Robings, then they have fallen for a scam. If he doesn't agree that the people should have the final say on this, then he can vote against it; he's a lucky guy. He shouldn't be so disrespectful to me or other people who want to fight overdevelopment. So, if you haven't already, please sign the petition to get the initiative on the ballot.
