Osher Institute offers adult lecture series

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Cal State Channel Island will offer a lecture series called "A Taste of OLLI: An Intellectual Buffet" from 10 a.m. to noon starting Sat., Jan. 11 at the CSUCI Center, 501 Marin St., Thousand Oaks.

The series, which runs on eight consecutive Saturdays, consists of eight short courses, a different lecture each day.

The program showcases the topics available from OLLI, including popular film and society, legal arguments for diversity, the Odyssey, bluegrass music, language difference in men and women, the celebrity culture, modern classical music, and the myth and reality of Noah's Flood.

Participants may enroll in any number of the modules. Preregistration is encouraged. Enrollment is possible at the door, but space isn't guaranteed.

The fee is $10 for a single lecture or $65 for the entire series if paid in advance.
