'Air Force One' authors to appear Authors Joel and Michael Cohen, a father-and-son team from Westlake Village, will be on hand later this month to sign their book documenting Air Force One's final journey to Simi Valley's Reagan Library. During its 28 years of service, Air Force One 27000 carried more presidents to more countries on more missions than any other aircraft in history. And in June 2003, it made its final move to its permanent resting place. The Cohens were on hand every step of the way. "It was the journey of my life, and I'm a 72-year-old man and I've been through a lot," Joel said. The Cohens put together their book, "Air Force One- The Final Mission," which is dedicated in large part to the little-known crew who took care of the plane's care, disassembly and travel to its new home. The Cohens took more than 4,000 photographs during the four-and-a-half-year project. All the living presidents gave retrospectives on Air Force One, and the Cohens were given the right to use the presidential seal on the cover of the book. Nancy Reagan wrote a special message for "Air Force One- The Final Mission," something she had never agreed to do before. The Cohens will be signing books at Borders at 2 p.m. Sat., Dec. 22.
