Thousand Oaks Teen Center will host annual Battle of the Bands

Local bands will raise the roof at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center when the annual Battle of the Bands is staged from 7 to 11 p.m. Sat., Dec. 1 at 1375 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

Bands scheduled to engage in musical warfare include Aces High, Amprage, Backline, Roman Empire and Waltz Reprise.

A number of hightech electronic prizes will be awarded.

Participating bands will be judged on stage presence, rhythm and timing, vocals and instrumental skill.

Members of various bands and a music publishing representative will be among the judges.

Attendance is limited to high school students only.

The program is a cooperative effort between the Teen Center Advisory Committee and Music Gives, a Conejo Valley nonprofit organization.

Admission is $10, with all proceeds to benefit Lily of the Valley, a South African orphanage.
