Protect NP ocean view and beauty

I grew up in Newbury Park. My family moved here in 1964, and I moved back with my own family in 1993.

We enjoy the beautiful open spaces and the quality of life here. However, in the past decade there has been a great deal of development in Newbury Park. It seems every tiny lot has been developed.

Now the wonderful open space of Rancho Potrero is threatened. My family and I walk there frequently since it became open to the public. There's one path up an old paved road we call my "sunset walk" because we enjoy watching the sun set over the ocean and Channel Islands.

Few people realize there are ocean views for all residents to enjoy from Newbury Park. At times of personal accomplishment, loss or just a need for serenity, I walk those hills.

The beauty there always restores my soul.

Please keep this area open space without a large parking lot or party pavilion. Keep it natural and simple. That will be the lasting beauty of the place.
