Jewish Genealogical Society meeting offers gifts, information

The Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County and surrounding areas will hold a general meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. Sun., Dec. 9 at Temple Adat Elohim, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

Ron Arons will speak about websites that are useful for finding materials such as historical documents, newspapers and articles, living people, maps and photos, and foreign language translators. Arons is a founding member of the Society and a published author.

Attendees will receive a genealogically relevant gift. There will be a drawing for prizes for those who renew their membership or join for 2008. Light refreshments will be served in celebration of Hanukkah.

There is no charge to attend the meeting. The society's annual dues are $25 for an individual and $30 for a family.
