Public invited to tree lighting

The community is invited to a holiday celebration and the 12th annual Tree Lighting Spectacular at The Promenade at Westlake, starting at 7 p.m. Fri., Nov. 16 at 101 Promenade Way. The event is free.

The celebration includes the lighting of the Christmas tree, live musical performances, surprise guests, the arrival of Santa Claus and a fireworks show.

The family oriented evening will include the magic of Curtis Adams. Performers include the Jumbo Shrimp Circus, Vanessa Born and Roger Kabler.

Following the show, local group Playback will provide live music until 10 p.m. at the fountain court area.

Santa's Cottage will open at 8 p.m. offering visits and photos with Old St. Nick. The cottage will reopen Nov. 23 and will then remain open daily through Dec. 24.
