Save Open Space assumes people are ignorant In the Oct. 24 Thousand Oaks Acorn, Save Open Space (SOS) ran another of its hit-piece ads, designed to inflame the community it represents with exaggerated predictions of doom and gloom for a Rancho Potrero plan not yet finalized, again with no evidence to support its assertions. SOS boldly questions the plan: "Will it be a park for family picnics, hiking and trail riding? Or a place for exclusive corporate and private events?" How stupid does SOS think the citizens of Thousand Oaks are? Is SOS so ignorant of the conceptual plan that they actually think that our elected leaders could dedicate Potrero solely to corporate and/or private interests? Is SOS using misinformation to inflame us? Has SOS stretched the truth for its own purpose? Interpret their warnings anyway you want, but the bottom line is SOS isn't telling the truth. My daddy taught me that not telling the truth is nothing more than a nice word for lying. SOS: Support your Rancho Potrero position with evidence and facts, not innuendo, scare tactics and verbal bullying. Ron Bauer Thousand Oaks |
