YMCA will honor Boggs at Leadership Award Celebration

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA will honor Steve Boggs, president of Standard Pacific Homes, at its 10th annual YMCA Leadership Award Celebration at 6 p.m. Sat., Nov. 10 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.

The event gives recognition to local community leaders or companies that show community awareness, leadership and generosity, according to a YMCA spokesperson.

Boggs joined Standard Pacific Homes of Ventura in 1988 and became president in 1992. He has been named Builder of the Year twice, once in 1978 in the San Gabriel Valley and again in 2000 by the BIA of Los Angeles and Ventura counties. He has supported and worked with Safe Harbor East for abused children, Home Aid, the Ventura County Boy Scouts, Hospice of the Conejo, Conejo Parks and Recreation and on the building committee of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church.

Tickets are $175 per person. Money raised will be used to provide financial aid for individuals in need and to help fund programs that cannot be sustained through fees alone.
