One Eagle . . . and another

REACHES THE PINNACLE- Jeremy Scott Hanna, a Newbury Park High School student, has obtained the rank of Eagle, the highest in Scouting. Jeremy, 16, refinished and rewired the "Reaching for the Stars" statue at Conejo Players Theatre, refurbished the benches in the seating area around the statue and cleaned away the overgrown vegetation. He has a passion for live stage performances. He's the son of Karen and Scott Hanna and was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
NEWBURY PARK HIGH SCHOOL SCORES AGAIN- Kevin Weeks, a senior at NPHS, has qualified as an Eagle Scout. Kevin competes in track, cross country and water polo for the Panthers. For his Eagle project, he designed and constructed inserts for the park district's Doggie Bag containers so the new bags would fit into the receptacles. He and his volunteers cut, nailed, sanded and painted the inserts and delivered them to 78 parks throughout Conejo Valley. He's the son of Don and Vicki Weeks and was sponsored by the T.O. Elks Lodge.
