Dia de los Muertos celebrated at CLU

El Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) will be celebrated Thurs., Nov. 1 at California Lutheran University, 60 W. Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks.

A traditional altar will be built starting at 10 a.m. in the student union building as part of the Latin celebration of All Saints' Day. Members of the public can visit throughout the day and place items on the altar in honor of deceased loved ones.

Samples of traditional pan de muerto (bread) and pictures and information about the holiday's history will be available.

CLU's multicultural programs and the Latin American student organization are sponsoring the free event.
