Library to host multimedia dance presentation

Nan Deane Cano, author of "Acts of Light," will give a multimedia presentation on the Martha Graham Dance Company at 2:30 p.m. Sat., Nov. 3 at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks.

Cano has been a college and secondary educator for 27 years and has been published in the New York Times, Company magazine and the Los Angeles Times. She was editor of artist interviews in Camerata Pacifica Music Notes.

The book features fullcolor digital photos of Graham's dances. John Deane served as the promotional photographer for the dance company. The photographs are accompanied by personal interviews with Graham Company dancers, including their approach to and interpretation of classic dances.

Essays, poetry and excerpts from Graham's notebook are included in the book.
