Info meetings set for search and rescue

The Ventura County Sheriff's East Valley Search and Rescue will offer a new training academy beginning in January 2008.

Informational meetings to discuss requirements and eligibility will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 8 and at 9 a.m. Sat., Nov. 17 in the community room at the East Valley Sheriff's Station, 2101 E. Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks.

Attendance at one of these meetings is required to proceed in the training academy application process. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, pass a physical agility test and pass a background check.
