Simi Valley (4-2)

Outlook: Contenders or pretenders- this matchup will be a true measuring stick for the Simi Valley football team.

The Pioneers, particularly their defense, looked great during recent wins over Moorpark and Calabasas, but struggled in a loss at Agoura.

With offensive weapons such as wideout Curtis Peterson and running back Cooper Shockley at his disposal, WHS quarterback Nick Owens could give the Pioneers' defense fits, provided he has time to throw the ball.

Simi Valley senior running back Langston Jackson is a load. Look for Westlake to stack the line of scrimmage in an effort to make someone else beat them. Moorpark (4-2) at

Agoura (3-3)

Outlook: Week in and week out, Agoura quarterback Doug Shumway continues to impress with his ability to run and throw the football.

During last week's homecoming loss to Newbury Park, Shumway completed 22-of-29 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed the ball 18 times, albeit for only 13 total yards.

Shumway will need to be at his best against Moorpark, a team that's riding high following a 4017 beat down of Thousand Oaks.

Containing Moorpark sophomore running back Austin Edmonson will be vital for Agoura. The Chargers allowed 303 rushing yards to Newbury Park.
