Let's preserve our open space

My wife and I became aware of plans by the city of Thousand Oaks and Conejo Recreation and Park District to develop the 326acre Rancho Potrero property by building roads, a 200person party pavilion, etc. in the middle of an open space rural preserve.

We attended a community workshop in early July at which, without exception, the attendees made it clear that while additional trailheads, some shade trees and a few picnic tables were acceptable, the construction of a pavilion with an access road and other items were not.

We demand that the CRPD board act to reflect the feeling of the large majority of the residents to leave it open space. Joan and David Logan Newbury Park
