'Unprotected' seminar to be held

A Community Education Seminar featuring the book "Unprotected" will be held at 7 p.m. tonight, Thurs., Oct. 18, in the Scherr Forum Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.

Dr. Miriam Grossman, a psychiatrist at UCLA and author of "Unprotected," will "demonstrate omissions and distortions in the way we currently educate young people about sexuality," according to event organizers.

Grossman has worked as a campus psychiatrist for 11 years and drew on her experiences to write the book.

A questionandanswer session and book signing will be included in the seminar.
