Other local football matchups

JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers CHARGING FORWARD- After losing its first two games of the year by a total of 10 points, Thousand Oaks has won two in a row.
Calabasas (1-3) at Oak Park (3-1) at

Thousand Oaks (2-2)

Camarillo (2-2)

Outlook: Following a tough loss to Newbury Park in Week 3, Oak Park bounced back last Friday by upending Los Angeles Baptist, 35-7.

Give credit to Oak Park's defense, which recorded five sacks against L.A. Baptist.

Camarillo is coming off a bye week and has been up and down this season.

The Scorpions have defeated Ventura and Agoura, but they've lost games to Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park. ACHS has scored 88 points and allowed 83.

It's tough to tell which Camarillo team will show up, but regardless, they better be ready to stop the run vs. Oak Park because the Eagles can move the chains.

Outlook: Don't look now, but the Lancers are gaining momentum just as things are starting to get interesting in league play.

In blowing past Agoura last Friday, 37-26, TOHS tallied 249 rushing yards. Most of the damage was done by Evan Yabu, who filled in at running back after John Lister went down with a knee injury. According to head coach Mike Leibin, Lister didn't suffer structural damage to the knee and is listed as day-to-day.

Thousand Oaks' offensive line continues to play fantastic football and should have a major size advantage against an undermanned Calabasas squad.

This will be the Coyotes' third consecutive road contest.
