Don't destroy Rancho Potrero

In 1999, we moved to California from Colorado. There, we were fortunate enough to be able to enjoy the great Rocky Mountains and learn to appreciate nature. Here, we chose the suburban Conejo Valley from among many things, for its planned growth and open spaces, something rarely found in Los Angeles.

In as much, we are disappointed to hear of potential plans to build a "party pavilion" and parking lot inside the rural park next to Circle K Ranch, formerly Two Winds Ranch.

To anyone proposing these structures, we can only ask, why? Why ruin the good thing you've got going in this valley? We suggest you take time to explore the rural park firsthand. Touring the park, whether by foot or on horseback, is really a worthwhile experience.

It's among the few places we have left where you can still find wildlife in a natural setting and enjoy the simple beauty and serenity this area has to offer.

Please don't turn Conejo Valley into another L.A.
