Organic and Green Festival to be held in Malibu this weekend

One hundred experts on green living will showcase their products during the Malibu Organic and Green Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat., Oct. 6 between Cross Creek and Webb Way off Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, in the area that will be the new Legacy Park, owned by the city of Malibu, to be completed in 2009.

The festival features awardwinning green builders, green products, a children's Eco Village with hands-on opportunities and "green" merchants.

Patrons can visit with professionals and learn about creating "sustainability and social responsibility" in several different areas.

The daylong entertainment will include live jazz, classical and blues music on a solar stage. The Green Building tent, hosted by Ed Begley Jr., will host the Panel of the Pros, who will share information on how to make home and business green.

The Organic Food Village will serve food from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Admission is free, and parking is $7 on the Legacy Park lot.

This project will support the efforts of designing Legacy Park to address critical issues, such as wastewater management and storm water treatment.
