Pepperdine show sheds light on 3-D illusions

Pepperdine University will present LUMA: Theater of Light at 2 p.m. Sun., Oct. 21 in the Smothers Theatre, 24255 Pacific Coast Hwy., Malibu.

According to a spokesperson for the show, LUMA uses darkness as a canvas and light as a brush to create three-dimensional illuminated illusions.

The work fuses dance, acrobatics, juggling, rhythmic gymnastics, magic, puppetry, chaos theory and experimental methods with state-of-the-art light technology.

Tickets, priced at $35 for adults, $20 for youths 17 and under, and $10 for full-time Pepperdine students, are available by calling (310) 506-4522. The show is not recommended for children under 5.
