Court volunteers honored at appreciation ceremonies

More than 600 volunteers who have contributed time and knowledge to the Ventura Superior Court during the past three years were honored at two Volunteer Appreciation ceremonies last month.

Honored volunteers included temporary judges, teen court judges, arbitrators, mediators, docents, settlement officers and those who assisted in the selfhelp centers, children's waiting rooms and other court offices including jury services and family court services.

The speakers were Colleen Toy White, presiding judge, and Michael Planet, court executive officer.

Special recognition was given to attorney Nancy Aronson for giving her time as a temporary judge to the Homeless Court program and the annual Stand Down Court for homeless veterans.
