Calabasas (1-2) at Westlake (1-2)

Outlook: The joy of last week's streak-stopping victory over Channel Islands has quickly turned into the reality of playing at Westlake for the Calabasas Coyotes.

The biggest problem for Calabasas could be the mindset of the Warriors, a team that's lost its last two games, one on a lastsecond pass and another by blowout.

There's no doubt Westlake head coach Jim Benkert will have his players focused on getting back into the win column. An emotional letdown is highly unlikely for the Warriors.

This will also be Westlake's first home game. It could be a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time for Calabasas.

Venice (3-0) at Oaks Christian (2-1)

Outlook: If the Lions let last week's loss to St. Bonaventure linger into their game against Venice, they could very well be a .500 ballclub by late Friday night.

Venice is playing outstanding ball early on. The Gondoliers are averaging 36.3 points per game on offense and are allowing 16 points per game defensively.

Oaks Christian, with its 48game winning streak now in the rearview mirror, showed tremendous heart in nearly coming back from a 34-7 deficit vs. St. Bonaventure. OCHS lost 41-33.

Chris Potter, Chris Owusu, Malcolm Jones and Trace Biskin continue to make plays for the Lions. They should create headaches for Venice all night long.
