Thousand Oaks does things the right way I'm gratified to witness the growth, progress and beautification of the city of Thousand Oaks. Each project seems to be the fruition of serious thought and professional understanding of architectural design, color and landscaping, to enhance and accommodate existing structures and to visually unify the city. On the opposite side of the spectrum, it saddens me to see the evolution of Westlake Village into a small city with no character or beauty. Every conceivable style, color and architectural feature is reflected in each mediocre project. To add insult to injury, our only freeway entrance now boasts a giant neon sign and banners hanging from windows to advertise the new establishment. A little farther up Lindero Canyon Road, we're confronted not with the view of a beautiful restaurant entrance, but a view of a large dumpster facing the main road. To the south, the monuments supposedly welcoming residents and visitors are covered with foliage so high that they hide even the name of the city, and at night no lights are properly directed to the beautiful lettering or city emblem. The list of problems goes on.
To bring some sanity back into the decision-making
process, we must get a new start. Please make a change in our City Council by
voting for Carol Kirschbaum. Editor's note: The city of Westlake Village, which borders the Westlake Village portion of Thousand Oaks in L.A. County, is having a City Council election in November. | |||||
