Area school bands to compete in Royal classic

The Royal High School Band Boosters will host the 24th annual Royal Classic marching band and color guard competition from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sat., Oct. 20 at the school, 1402 Royal Ave., Simi Valley.

In this event, more than 25 schools from around the Southland will compete, including Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Newbury Park and Rio Mesa high schools.

There will be two awards ceremonies, one for small bands and one for large bands.
