Poker players: Mark your calendars for Nov. 11

Be sure to mark your calendar for Sun., Nov. 11 when the Thousand Oaks Kiwanis Club Foundation presents its inaugural Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament with presenting sponsor Do-it-Center at the Borderline Bar & Grill, 99 Rolling Oaks Drive, just south of the 101 Freeway, off Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks.

Advance registration is $30 ($35 at the door), which includes a buffet dinner and casino funny money. The cost to buy into the poker tournament is $150, which gets the participant $10,000 in poker chip "play dough." If you bring five or more tournament players, the registration fee for each of these players is waived. Registration begins at 4 p.m. with poker instructions and silent auction. Poker tournament begins at 5 p.m., buffet dinner 6 p.m. The live auction is at 6:30 p.m. and then the tournament continues.

Grand prize for the poker tourney winner is an LCD big screen HDTV and a free buyin to a major local poker tournament. There are other great prizes for all "final table" players.
