Local company's movie nominated for award

The film "Eye of the Dolphin," produced by Thousand Oaks-based monterey media, has been nominated for the KIDS FIRST! 2007 Best Award in the Best Feature Film Ages 12 to 18 category.

The film stars teen actress Carley Schroeder of Newbury Park as Alyssa, a girl who discovers she has a gift for communicating with dolphins.

The eighth annual awards celebration will be Sun., Oct. 7 at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. Schroeder will be present to introduce the movie.

The KIDS FIRST! Film and Video Festival is an initiative of the not-for-profit Coalition for Quality Children's Media.
