Junior Women's Club invites new members

The Westlake Village Junior Women's Club will host its annual new member social for prospective members at 7:30 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 27 at the home of Brooke MacLean in Westlake Village.

The casual event is a way for interested women to meet active members and learn more about the club. Cocktails will be served. Interested women may call MacLean for more information at (805) 778-1085.

Membership in the club is open to all women from the Conejo Valley looking for an opportunity to do community service and make an active difference in the lives of others. Members work together to raise money for local charities, volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and cook for the hungry and homeless.

The club's two annual fundraisers are the Gingerbread Holiday Boutique in November, and a gala at Sherwood Country Club in the spring.

In 2006, the club donated more than $50,000 to charities serving the Conejo Valley and surrounding areas.
