Bonsai Society holds exhibit at Gardens of the World

The Conejo Valley Bonsai Society will hold its fourth annual Bonsai Exhibition and Demonstration from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat. and Sun., Oct. 6 and 7 at the Gardens of the World, 2001 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.

The exhibition will be at the resource center in the gardens and will display society members' work. Members will answer questions about the society, bonsai techniques and any other information relating to the hobby.

In the bandstand, members will demonstrate how to transform a nursery tree into the beginnings of a bonsai, including techniques used in examining the raw tree, determining which branches or limbs to keep or remove, and the new shape to which it will be trained by wiring and trimming. The demonstrations will be at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day.

Parking is available on Thousand Oaks Boulevard. The public is welcome to attend.
