Peter White to perform at Hyatt Westlake Plaza

Smooth jazz artist Peter White will perform in the Westlake Summer Jazz Series at 7 p.m. Sat., Sept. 29 at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza pool garden stage, 880 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.

White, whose CDs include "Confidential," "Cavaran of Dreams" and "Playin' Favourites," was born in England in 1954. His career took off when he toured with Al Stewart in the mid-1970s and played on Stewart's album "Year of the Cat."

White, who plays keyboards and guitar, has performed with many other artists, including Johnny Rivers, Susanna Hoffs and Tori Amos.

White formed his own band in the 1990s, and continues to tour not only with his band but with Stewart, Basia and others, playing up to 100 shows a year.
