Los Robles Children's Choir to sing at Carnegie Hall

Distinguished Concerts International in New York City recently announced that Donna Young and two ensembles from the Los Robles Children's Choir have been invited to perform June 29, 2008, at Carnegie Hall in New York.

The Amadeus Choir for ages 10 to 14 and the Camerata Choir for ages 15 to 19 will participate. The choirs will join with other choruses selected from throughout North America to form two festival choruses of 150 to 175 singers each for the performance.

The Amadeus Choir will be conducted by Darren Dailey in a repertoire for children's choir and orchestra. The Camerata Choir will join conductor Hank Dahlman in a performance of Mozart's Solemn Vespers.

The singers will spend five days and four nights in New York City in preparation for the concert, with about nine to 10 hours in rehearsals.

Members of the community who wish to give financial support for this trip may call Young at (805) 480-9416 or e-mail Donna@singingchildren.com.

The Los Robles Children's Choir is headquartered at 3373 Mountain Trail Ave., Newbury Park and rehearses at Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village. For more information, visit www.singingchildren.com.
