T.O. woman charged with two counts of insurance fraud

Lorrie Ann Dingman, 40, of Thousand Oaks was recently arrested and charged with two counts of auto insurance fraud, according to the district attorney's office of Ventura County.

Dingman was involved in a low-speed, rear-end collision. She sued Sentry Insurance Co. for $487,263. The company provided the Department of Insurance with a videotape that contradicted her claims of posttraumatic fibromyalgia.

A court-appointed expert opined that the information reviewed, including early reports to medical professionals and the description of the force generated by the accident, did not support her claims.

If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum penalty of six years in prison.
