Holy Trinity Lutheran Church to host Rally Day

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will kick off the new school year with a combined event on Sun., Sept. 9 with the Honey Tree Early Childhood Center open house, Village Sunday School Rally Day registration and the annual endofsummer ice cream social.

Open house for Honey Tree, a church outreach program, will be from 1 to 3 p.m. The center has classes for ages 3 years to kindergarten. Some classes still have openings. For more information, go to www.myhoneytree.com.

Sunday School registration begins in the courtyard at 9:30 a.m. and continues through the ice cream social, which will run from 1 to 3 p.m. The social offers a hot dog lunch for $2, ice cream sundae buffet for $1, free crafts, games, water play and live music.

The theme for this year's Sunday School is "Stewardship." Classes are for children ages 4 through grade six. Each session will have a story time, discussion, crafts, snacks and songs.

Rally Day will offer a backpack blessing for any student attending school.
