Oaks Christian's Bedrosian Pavilion for performing arts will open today

The new Bedrosian Pavilion on the campus of Oaks Christian School will have a grand opening today. The $16million multipurpose arts center will house the performing arts program at the Westlake Village campus.

The grand opening, which will take place at 6 p.m., will include 300 guests and donors, school officials said.

The 30,000squarefoot building, which is named after school board member and major donor John Bedrosian and his wife, Judith, is the centerpiece of Oaks Christian School's Phase II expansion plan.

The school conducted a $21million campaign to fund the expansion. Other capital improvements in Phase II include buildout of new classrooms in the existing Price Academic Center, the addition of a complete new security system, all new technology throughout the campus and enhancement of the aquatic center, baseball stadium and Thorson Stadium.

The gala evening will include a reception, the unveiling of a sculpted glass "donor wall," a sitdown dinner, a dedication and celebration of donors, and a concert featuring Oaks Christian student performers.

Oaks Christian School is a private, nondenominational school for grades six-12. The school's address is 31749 La Tienda Drive in Westlake Village.
