Seniors have good times at Goebel

Goebel Senior Adult Center will present a variety of programs and trips. For more information and to make reservations, call (805) 381-2744 or visit the center at 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

•A summer barbecue will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tues., Aug. 28. Tickets are $6 per person and are available at the center.

•Labor Day breakfast will be served from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Mon., Sept. 3. Tickets are available now and include entertainment and breakfast.

•A presentation on the art of humor will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Mon., Sept. 10. The coordinator is Marty Albert.

•A seminar on credit cards will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tues., Sept. 18. Betty Berry, senior advocate, will present the program. Reservations are required.

•Community agencies will present information on home care, hospice, reverse mortgages and other topics from 6 to 8 p.m. Wed., Sept. 19. Reservations are required.

•A seminar on managing assets will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wed., Sept. 26. Topics covered include changes in tax law, pros and cons of reverse mortgage and organizing legal affairs. Light refreshments will be served. Reservations are required.

•Trips offered include a 90minute cruise in Long Beach Harbor Wed., Oct. 24, $74 per person; a Frank Lloyd Wright tour of Hollyhock House and Judson Studios Tues., Oct. 9, $68 per person; and a three-day excursion to Chukchansi Casino Resort in Coursegold, which includes admission to Yosemite National Park and Springville Apple Festival, $246 per person double occupancy.
