Let's get rolling on Home Depot

As a retired contractor and my wife's personal handyman, I've looked forward to having a new Home Depot store nearby ever since the rumors started that it was coming.

The current site is a major eyesore, and I think the Home Depot will make a positive impact on the city- - new jobs, tax revenue for the city and convenience to the people of the eastern end of Thousand Oaks and even Agoura. Newbury Park may be only seven miles away, but it could be 20 for the bottleneck traffic on the 101 through the city.

As for the arguments of the competition to Do-it Center, no single business should have a monopoly on their type of service. Competition is healthy and the new, smaller Home Depot would serve the community well.

I say, "Let's get rolling." Fred Gallegos Thousand Oaks
