Wellness Community to offer workshops

The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura is offering the following workshops in August. All programs are at 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village, unless stated otherwise.

•"Harnessing the power of hypnotherapy" will be presented from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thurs., Aug. 16. Paula Getty-Shearer, a certified hypnotherapist, will explain how to use hypnosis to reduce stress and foster healing. The workshop is for cancer patients and their families.

The program will be repeated at a breast cancer connection luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. Fri., Aug. 24. Lunch is provided. Seating is limited. Call the above number to RSVP for the luncheon.

•A program for women in active cancer treatment, "Look good . . . feel better," will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs., Aug. 23. The workshop, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, will offer techniques to restore self-image and cope with appearancerelated effects of treatment. To RSVP, call (800) 227-2345.
