Dance company to hold auditions
The Academy of Dance and School of Performing Arts will hold auditions for the jazz, hiphop, tap, lyrical and ballet companies for the 2007-08 season.

The dancers compete at local and regional competitions throughout the year.

Beginning, intermediate and advanced dancers are welcome to audition. All will be considered based on their auditions.

Auditions will be on Mon., Aug. 27 at 5700 Corsa Ave., Ste. 106, Westlake Village. Dancers ages 6 to 19 are welcome.

Audition times are: 4 to 5 p.m. for ages 6 to 9 ballet, tap, lyrical, jazz and production jazz; 5 to 6 p.m. for ages 9 and up hip-hop company; and 5 to 6 p.m. for ages 9 and up ballet, tap, lyrical, jazz and production jazz.

All applicants should come prepared to dance. Girls should wear form-fitting dancewear; shorts and tights are good. Boys should wear black dance pants and a T-shirt.

Dancers should bring all dance shoes (ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop).

Dancers will learn a combination in each style of dance and will perform in small groups or solo.
