What has changed since you moved to Thousand Oaks? Has it been for the better?
MICHELLE PINNEGAR Campus supervisor "There are a lot more lights. The library's grown. I like the new children's library, and I'm looking forward to the new Discovery Center. I'm glad they kept the parade; I hope that doesn't change. The freeway will be nice when they finish it. The community keeps getting better all around. The area has good people, and I'm thankful I can raise my child here."
KAREEN OLIVERI Front desk clerk "The obvious change is the way everything has been up-scaled- houses, shopping centers. Thousand Oaks has become ritzy. What's good is what hasn't changed. It's still a safe, clean, good place to raise kids with beautiful oak trees around us. I'm beginning to feel, as a single mom, that I'm getting to be the low man on the totem pole."
ALAN THIELE Field supervisor "The cost of houses has gone way up along with the cost of construction of new homes. It's definitely not an improvement. Rentals are insane. It's impossible for normal families to buy a home."
MISTY MCCLANNAHAN Administrative secretary "Construction on The Oaks mall is going to be a big change. There will be a more friendly atmosphere for everyone, and it will have a Thousand Oaks feeling to it. It is an improvement."
