City and park district need input on Rancho Potrero

Having just finished working with a focus group on the Rancho Potrero property at the southwestern part of the Conejo Valley, it seemed timely to remind the public that Conejo Recreation and Park District and city of Thousand Oaks purchased this beautiful open space and are looking for public input on its current and future use.

A consultant is drafting plans to present to both the park district, the city and the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA) within the next few months. They would welcome your thoughts on what you would like to see and not see on the land.

If you're interested, just give one of these agencies a call to find out when the public hearings will be held. There will probably be three to four hearings, so you'll have ample opportunities to voice your opinion.

This land is next door to National Park Service property, and the fact it's also in public ownership is a tribute to the vision of the park district and the city.
