Live music this summer at The Lakes

The Lakes shopping center will host the "Hot August Nights" music series from 5 to 8 p.m. every Saturday in August. All performances are free to the public.

Patrons can also shop and dine at The Lakes boutiques and restaurants. Claim Jumper, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Sushi Ko and California Pizza Kitchen will offer patio seating and takeout options so patrons can eat dinner picnic-style on the lawn.

On Sunday afternoons The Lakes will continue its summer music series, featuring free performances by local musicians from 2 to 5 p.m.

The bands for Saturday evenings are as follow.

•Aug. 4: Cuppa Joe, '60s and '70s favorites

•Aug. 11: Kings of Marigold, high energy '60s and '70s rock

•Aug. 18: Midnight Train, classic rock

•Aug. 25: Morris Wade and Soundtrack, R&B favorites and golden oldies

Bands for "Smooth Summer Sundays" will include the following.

•Aug. 5 and 12: Playback, '50s, '60 and '70s hits

•Aug. 19: FineArts Jazz Group, smooth jazz

•Aug. 26: Morris Wade and Soundtrack
