Goebel Center to get salad bar, thanks to grants

The city of Thousand Oaks received a $1,000 grant from the Senior Nutrition Action Council and a donation of $1,500 from the Goebel Senior Center Commission.

These grants and donations will be applied to the purchase of a refrigerated salad bar and supplies for the center.

The Ventura County Area Agency on Aging recently renovated the facility.

The new salad bar will provide more options for diners with special dietary needs.

The Senior Nutrition program offers healthy meals to seniors, while providing them with an opportunity to socialize with other adults in the community.
