The council should circle its wagons

I am writing to thank Amy Walker-Davis for her wonderful letter to the Thousand Oaks Acorn on July 5 ("Bad decisions are getting to be a habit in city hall").

Thank you, Amy; you are right on the money. The mayor doesn't want to own up to the fact that our city is having cash flow problems, which we are. And eventually the City Council will be coming after the taxpayers to make us pay for their debt, and the taxpayers should not have to owe them a dime for their bad mistakes.

I agree that they should not be giving the Auto Mall money and the parks and recreation department is a separate agency with its own budget, but they do partner with the city, and I agree that we shouldn't be changing the way the boulevard looks, with 55-foot buildings, and we need to hold our council and planning commission accountable.

So I do appreciate you, Amy. Hopefully you will consider running for election in 2008.
